Yuval Semo (Hebrew: יובל סמו; born 20 June 1972) is an Israeli actor and comedian. He is well known for acting in the popular Israeli TV show Eretz Nehederet.

Biography

Semo was born in Haifa in 1972. His military service was in the Ordnance Corps. After his military service he worked in the Israel Electric Corporation. He left after a year and began working for the cosmetics company L'Oréal. In addition, he worked at odd jobs like in a garage, waitering in a catering, newspapers delivery and as a construction worker. In addition, during this period Semo attended the acting school "Beit Zvi".[1]

He began his acting career as part of the "Prozac Trio" (שלישיית פרוזאק) with whom he participated in many Israeli TV shows such as "Eretz Nehederet", "Ha-Retzu'a","Ha-Chaim Ze Lo Hacol", "Shidurey HaMahapecha", "Domino", "Naor's Friends" and "HaPijamot".

In 2007 he started his participation in the Israeli television show "Eretz Nehederet" (Hebrew: ארץ נהדרת, lit. Wonderful Country), a satirical comedy with references to current affairs as well as parodies of the people involved. Among his characters on the show Semo impersonated political commentator Ehud Yaari, musician Mosh Ben-Ari, politician Isaac Herzog, leader of Hezbollah Hassan Nasrallah, Minister of Justice of Israel Daniel Friedmann, Israeli Attorney General Menachem Mazuz, Israeli politician Uri Orbach and the Queen of England.

During the 2000s (decade) Semo also played in secondary roles in several cinematic Israeli films such as "Bekarov, Yikre Lekha Mashehu Tov", "Yossi and Jagger" and "Zohi Sdome".

In addition from 2001-2003 Semo also played in the Tzavta theater (succeeding Hanan Lederman when he became a Baal teshuva and embraced Orthodox Judaism).

In 2010 Semo played in the Israeli film Zohi Sdome (Hebrew: זוהי סדום, lit. "This is Sodom") together with the rest of the "Eretz Nehederet" cast.[2]

Semo is married to actress Dana Abraham Semo. The couple have a son named Ran.
